TUGBOAT BENETTI 29 “SAN GENNARO”

The SAN GENNARO is a 29-meter Benetti tugboat, built in 1964 and professionally converted from a work vessel into a yacht. The new design completely renovated the superstructures, expanding them, as well as the main deck, which now houses a spacious saloon, dining area, and kitchen.
The upper deck (third deck) includes a large wheelhouse and the Owner’s suite, while the lower deck has three guest cabins and a laundry room, with all cabins on the main deck furnished in a classic style. The crew is accommodated in two double cabins aft of the engine room. The interior furnishings are entirely in teak, as is the decking across all three levels.
The conversion involved a comprehensive overhaul where all systems were renewed and the engine room fully reconditioned, allowing the preservation of the original engine, a 1050-horsepower MAN running at just 360 rpm with thruster equipped with Kort nozzle, reaching a cruising speed of 9 knots and a maximum speed of 11 knots. The Benetti San Gennaro tugboat is a symbol of Italian naval history, unique and exceptional in terms of safety and comfort, much like the iconic “Prometej” tug converted by Alberta Ferretti and “Sant’Andrea,” once owned by Bud Spencer, both transformed into iconic and unstoppable motor yachts.

Very well equipped

The SAN GENNARO is very well equipped, featuring a bow thruster, two 40 kW generators, two 110 L/h watermakers, dual internal/external steering, autopilot, retractable hydraulic gangway, electric towing winches, retractable hydraulic davit for tenders, electric entrance door, sunbathing areas aft and on the flybridge, hot/cold air conditioning, bathrooms with bidets, shower booths, and electric toilets, safe, separate kitchen (equipped with 3 fridges, cold room, induction hob, oven, freezer, dishwasher), fridge in the cockpit and on the flybridge, washing machine, dryer, retractable TV in the lounge, TV in the Owner’s cabin, Hi-Fi system with external speakers, 2 satellite antennas, fire-fighting system, underwater lights, cameras in the engine room and aft deck. Always well maintained, with completed interventions in 2024 including the overhaul of the tunnel thruster and thruster shaft, sandblasting and treatment of the external bow area around the anchor, the overhaul of the bow thruster motor, and inspection of the chain links. In 2023, a new heat exchanger was installed, and in 2022, the batteries were replaced.
