When passion for boating looks to the future, shipyards that put together craftsmanship and innovation can create beautiful and sophisticated sailing boats and motor yachts.
X-Yachts is a Danish shipyard specialized in the construction of sailing boats. Since 2019, the shipyard started to product also power and motor yachts to expand its offering.
The shipyard story
X-Yachts was founded in
1979, in
Handerslev (
Denmark), by brothers Lars and Niels Jeppesen. The two founders were passionate about regattas and pleasure sailing. The first shipyard’s boat, the X-79, was launched in May 1979.
The success of this sailing boat was immediate and the X-79 was produced until 1994 because it was very popular in the nautical world.
During the following years, X-Yachts becomes a leader and a worldwide reference point in the sailing boats production.
In 41 years of business, celebrated in 2020, the shipyard manufactured almost 60 models. The most famous were:
- ISAF One Design class X-99;
- Spacious and luxury Performance cruisers such as X-6, X-65, IMX 70 and X-73.
The motor boats production: X-Yachts acquires HOC Yachts brand
X-Yachts, whose aim is to respond to the even-increasing demand for motor yachts,
acquires the Swedish HOC Yachts brand in 2019.
After the acquisition, X-Yachts’ offering becomes complete and today it includes:
- For the sailing boats’ segment, the X-Range line; the X-Cruising line for cruisers focused on comfort and style (XC 50; XC 45; XC 38) and the X-Performance line, that unites high performances and the comfort of a family yacht (Xp 55; Xp 50; Xp 44; Xp 38).
- For the motor boats’ segment, X-Yachts has already designed its first two power boats, the Explorer and the Cruiser, for which we will have to wait the 2021 edition of Dusseldorf Boat Show.
