Cantiere FERRETTI
The Ferretti Group is the global leader in motor yacht and ship designing, building and trading.
Every boat is a mix of creativity, safety, good sailing performance and advanced technologies. This is why the Ferretti yachts are appreciated by the navigators from all over the world.
The brand story
The brand was founded as Ferretti Nautica in 1968, when Ferretti brothers became Chris Craft sales representatives in Italy.
In 1971 the shipyard manufactured its first wooden “motor sailor” of 10 mt, while in 1982 Ferretti introduced its first powerboat and started the production of Sport Fisherman, Open and Flybridge boats.
The expansion of its product range, as well as sporting achievements favoured the Group’s internationalization process.
Ferretti of America Inc. was founded in 1993, while in 1994 Ferretti started a global commercialization and marketing, through the creation of a strategic dealers network outside Europe.
Starting from the second half of the ‘90s, the group undertook an expansion strategy based on targeted acquisitions of high-end boat builders, such as: Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, Mochi Craft, CRN and Custom Line.
In 2012, Weichai Group (“SHIG - Weichai Group”), one of the most important industrial groups in the world for what concerns commercial vehicles and construction machineries, acquired a participation of 75% in Ferretti Group, while in 2016 the Ferretti Security and Defence (FSD) was founded. It was the Group’s division specialized in projecting and building nautical platform and vessels designed to guarantee the security, the patrol, the research and the rescue mission in the national and international sea waters.
The Ferretti Group today
The current managing director of the Ferretti Group is Alberto Galassi.
