Cantiere PRINCESS YACHTS
History
Princess Yachts was founded as Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd for the maintenance and rental of the yacht "Project 31", but this boat was sold, therefore it became known about the potential of the boat business. More than 150 boats were produced and sold between 1966 and 1969.
After the success of "Project 31", in the 70s the Princess company began to implement the GRP models and released the first Princess 32 boat, which debuted in the boat show in London. In over 10 years of sales, over 1,200 boats have been sold, making it one of the most successful models in the company's history. Over 500 motor yachts were sold in the 1980s. This marked the beginning of a new approach to the production of motor yachts, based on the careful consideration of the design of each model.
This Princess Yachts approach is professed to this day. This is the era of the Princess 45, produced in 400 units in 9 years and then replaced by the Princess 455. In 1983 the first Princess 286 Riviera sports yacht was built, designed to meet the needs of the Mediterranean market. The company received the Royal Export Award.
In 1990 it was the turn of the Princess 65, at that time the largest mass-produced motor yacht in Great Britain, while the Princess 52 was launched in 1996. In 2001 the company was renamed Princess Yachts International plc . Among the boats produced in the last decade we find V42, V56, V78 and Princess 78 Motor Yacht, Princess 32M, Princess 40M and Princess 75 Motor Yacht. The 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2015.
