Cantiere APREA MARE
History
The history of APREAMARE shipyard began in 1849, when the shipwrights Giovanni Aprea handcrafted the first “gozzo” fishing boats (with oars and sails), built according to the traditional lines of the historic “gozzo” boats from Sorrento. The family business went on with his son Cataldo and his nephew Giovanni. The latter, after the WWII, came up with the idea of installing automotive engines on gozzo boats, thus starting the initial production of pleasure boats. The turning point was in 1988, when Cataldo Aprea founded Apreamare S.r.l. together with builder Salvatore Pollio, and enriched the handicraft tradition of the shipyard with innovative materials and designs that achieve great success in Italy and overseas. The first model manufactured by the new management was the Smeraldo 7, a 7-mt motor gozzo that became an instant success.

Apreamare S.r.l was acquired by Ferretti group in 2001, but the founding families regained its control in 2010 with the aim of highlighting the typical characteristics of Aprea boats. In 2015, Apreamare started a new business path with Cose Belle d’Italia holding. Currently, the shipyard production is divided in two lines: Apreamare (from 32 to 64 feet) that includes gozzo cabin cruisers reinterpreted in a contemporary style: open, with cabin, with or without fly; and Maestro line for larger yachts (from 51 to 82 feet), perfect example of aesthetic elegance and comfort, paired with seakeeping and maneuverability.
