History

The Cantiere Navale di Chiavari was a shipyard in business from the 19th century to the 1970s and it was an iconic shipyard on the easter side of Liguria. It was specialized in the construction of wonderful motor yachts with double planking. Among the signature models manufactured by the shipyard there are the Corvetta (40 units produced until 1959 with a hull initially of 6.50 mt and 10 mt from 1957). The Paraggina, a status-symbol boat of the ’60 is the most famous boat manufactured by Cantieri di Chiavari. 22 units were produced until 1965, with a length between 16.50 and 17.20 meters. The last Paraggina was built in 1970 and it is a one-off since it was built in lamellar structure instead of double planking. The shipyard also produced the Barbagatto (1000 units), the Rivera Esportazione (30 units) and Supercorvetta.
