Modello RIVA EGO 68

The RIVA EGO 68 is a beautiful example of how a careful study of shapes harmoniously integrates with a multitude of state-of-the-art technologies. The overall feeling on deck is aggressive and bold, but the sinuous and carefully-designed lines give a soft and delicate touch. Such mix of styles allowed the Riva Ego 68 to win three of the most prestigious Yachting awards (European Boat of the Year, Millenium Design Award and Croatian Powerboat of the Year).

Cantiere RIVA

The historic RIVA shipyard was among the most representative of Made in Italy excellent in the Yachting industry. The shipyard was founded by master carpenter Pietro Riva in 1842, in Sarnico, on the Western shore of Iseo Lake. At the very beginning, the shipyard used to repair and build the typical working boats of the area. Later Ernesto, Pietro’s son, realized that Powerboats would be the future of pleasure boating and started to build larger boats. After WWI, Serafino Riva focused the shipyard’s production on performing wooden boats for powerboat races. In the 40s, Serafino started to work with his young son Carlo, who would become one of the pioneers of pleasure powerboating even if he drifted away from his father’s philosophy.Indeed, according to Carlo only a highly-skilled serial production can make his dream come true: to make Riva a synonym of Luxury Yachts. During the Italian economic boom, engineer Carlo Riva created several elegant and refined wooden boats characterized by building excellence and extreme attention to details. Those were the years of Ariston, followed by the Tritone (that became famous thanks to Anita Eckberg), the Sebino (first mass-produced model) and the Florida, inspired by the American boats that were very popular at that time. Riva myth was born on November 1962, when Aquarama was first introduced during the 3rd International Yachting Show in Milan and immediately became a dream for all boating enthusiasts. In September 1969, Carlo Riva decides to sell his shipyard to the American company Whittaker, but he maintained the role of President and CEO. In 2000, the shipyard joined Ferretti Group and a new, thrilling chapter began in Riva history, also thanks to the extraordinary talent of Bergamo’s designer Mauro Micheli, founder of Officina Italiana Design together with Sergio Beretta; this is the studio that has designed the entire luxury Riva line. The most outstanding models of this time are: Aquariva (2001), Riva 115 Athena (2006), SportRiva (2007), Riva 86 Domino (2009), Rivamare (2016), Riva 110 Dolcevita (2016) and the new Riva 56 Rivale introduced last year.
