Comet 51 S

We all know the COMET 51S from the very beginning because of its elegant and sporty design, that starred in different TV commercials, such as the one for Q8 in a gas station, as well as the Italian TV serial “L’Isola di Pietro 2”. The Comet 51S also stood out in several sailing races, such as: Giraglia Rolex Cup, Rolex Capri Sailing Week, 2006 ORCi Italian championship (first overall), ORCi world championship.

This COMET 51 S was built with blue hull, mast painted in white with chain-plates on the sides, T-shaped keel (nodular cast iron and lead), carbon wheelhouse (rudder, blade and wheel). Inside it has a bow master cabin with full-beam bed (length 2.20 mt), electric bathroom with bidet, new indoor and outdoor upholsteries. In the last couple of years (2020/2018) it underwent a thorough refit: new teak on deck and cockpit with white decoration; disassembly and polishing of all deck steels in the workshop; Speedy Carbon antifouling cycle; overhauling of Gori thrusters and replacement of consumable parts; disassembly and siliconizing of side windows; overhauling of the two electric winches and their motors; new indoor and outdoor upholsteries;

painting of freeboard (both the blue hull and white deck); new mattresses in all the 3 cabins; installation of new LED lights at the chart table and in the master cabin; repainting of sail locker and peaks; installation of an air-conditioning system with outlets in the saloon and master cabin; new B&G and Sailor electronics including a GPS radar with instruments in the cockpit and master cabin too, as well as a VHF command station with a repeater in the cockpit; installation of TVs in the saloon and master cabin; new carbon mainsail, genoa and cod 0; installation of a new detachable carbon table in the cockpit; installation of an additional battery monitoring system.
